Royal Enfield seems to be catching the fancy of visitors to India quite rapidly. After getting Australian film director Baz Luhrmann and artist Vincent Fantauzzo impressed by the new Bullet Classic 500, it recently was the turn of ex-South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes. Currently at a stint as the fielding coach for the Mumbai Indians IPL team, Jonty took a bunch of hours off recently to ride the Classic 500 on the streets of Jaipur along with an entourage of fellow RE riders from the city.
Jonty’s ride through the city took him from his temporary abode in Jaipur at the Sheraton Rajputana, from where he was joined by 25 other thumpers from the Pink City. The group rode around the town and its outskirts before taking a breather at the imposing Amer Fort, also taking a dekko other landmarks like Nahargarh, Jaigarh and the Jal Mahal before the group ended the ride at the RE Brand Store in the city.

That’s the second time Rhodes has been associated with Royal Enfield. The cricketer had earlier visited the company’s factory in Chennai, taken in by its way of making the one-of-a-kind motorcycles. Looks like the fleet-footed fielder just got floored by the thump of classicism.
