Both the auto players, Hero Honda and Bajaj are into hot competition to get an upper hand in the Indian market. Both the companies have proved their worth by offering various bikes for the Indian commuters every now and then. However, one bike from both the companies has brought us to a halt.
The bikes are Hero Honda Hunk and Bajaj New Pulsar 150cc DTSi. The reason to get us to halt is that these two bikes are so evenly poised, that it is really difficult to choose from them. Let’s get our thinking caps on and get going for the better one amongst the best.
Hero Honda Hunk VS Bajaj New Pulsar 150cc DTSi
Let’s start with a general overview of the bike.
The Hunk variant of the Hero Honda is one of the prized possessions for the company. The self start bike comes in alloy wheels. The general looks are more aggressive and is loaded with some of the latest features. The changes made in the appearance are important changes the company has incorporated.
The Bajaj New Pulsar 150cc DTSi happens to be the first model in the 150cc category. As the HH Hunk, the Bajaj New Pulsar 150cc DTSi also comes in alloy wheels and a self start option – it has the conventional kick start option as well.
The Hero Honda Hunk has displacement of 149.2cc. The engine of the bike comes with 4 stroke, air cooled, single cylinder, OHC configuration. It develops a top speed of 14.4 PS at 8,500 rpm and churns out a peak torque of 12.80 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The HH Hunk has a five speed Constant Mesh Transmission. It helps in shifting the gears smoothly. It makes no noise or vibrations.
The Bajaj New Pulsar 150cc DTSi is also a class in itself. This bike has 4 stroke single cylinder air cooled engine. The Pulsar 150cc DTSi produces a maximum power of 14.09 PS and has a high torque of 12.76 Nm at 6, 5000 rpm. Like the Hunk, Pulsar too has 5 speed transmission gearbox.
The fuel capacity of the Hero Honda Hunk is 12.4 liters with a reserve of 2.2 liters. On the other hand, the Pulsar has 15 liters of fuel tank with 2 liters of reserve.
The length of the Hero Honda Hunk is 2080 mm, the height is 1095 mm while the width is 765 mm. Hero Honda Hunk has a wheelbase of 1325 mm while the ground clearance 145 mm.
The dimension of the Bajaj New Pulsar 150cc DTSi are: length is 2035 mm, width is 750 mm and height is 1165 mm. This bike has a wheelbase of 1320 mm. The ground clearance is of 165 mm.
The Hero Honda Hunk is available in colors like sports red, force silver, panther black. Two new colors have also been introduced which are ebony gray and candy blazing red. Side panels, fuel tank and mud-guard display the body colors.
The Bajaj New Pulsar 150cc Dtsi comes in colors like are Plasma Blue, Mid Night Black, Misty Grey Silver and Cocktail Wine Red. Like the Hero Honda bike, the body colors are on mud-guards, fuel tank and side panels.
The wheels are very passionately designed by the company which also incorporates the safety measures. The front tyre size is 2.75 x 18 – 42 P. The rear tyre is 100/90 mm x 18 -56 P. One good thing is that the HH Hunk is also available in tubeless tyres for both the front and the rear wheels.
The tyres of the Pulsar 150cc Dtsi have dimensions of 90/90 X 17 for the front wheel while 120/80 for the rear. The Bajaj bike too incorporates tubeless tyres. This means riding hassle free and not worrying about your bike getting punctured.
The HH Hunk has hydraulic shock absorbers for the front while swing-arm with 5 adjustable Gas Reservoir Suspension (GRS) makes up for the rear. The Bajaj bike uses 135 mm stroke, telescopic shock absorbers for the front wheels while for the rear wheel there is the triple rated spring, 5-way adjustable with 105 mm travel Nitrox.
For great safety measures, Hero Honda uses 220 mm disc brake for the front wheel while the same is in use for the rear brake. The Bajaj bikes have also integrated large front and rear disk brakes which are capable of stopping the bike instantly even when riding at high speed.
All in all, it is a tough choice to make, when it comes to choosing between these two world class bikes. But we would like to receive your comment on the two bikes. Please state in the comment box below!

Whoever said hunk can beat pulsar on roads think again only karizma can come neck to neck with a pulsar so think before you comment.
i purchage h hunk its better then the pulser pulser is too bakbaas
hunk is superb bike. i m using it from the last 2 years, Not faced any prob. Before hunk i had used pulsar more than 3 years. Belive me bajaj service is pathetic and their quality is very bad. Pulsar vibrates on a speed of 6. while hunk is super smooth in a speed of 80 as well. Handling of hunk is best in all 150 cc bikes and gives fuell efficiency of 55 kmpl in city conditions. My opinion is go for hero honda products and buy cbz or hunk if you wanna buy 150 cc segment bike. You really worth it….
i thik hunk is better than pulsar
hunk is great…
pulsar is best to compare to other 150cc bikes . pulsar now 2012 comes with more power its bhp is 15.06 and all the 150cc bikes are 14.04 bhp only (exp) r15 . and the rtr 16.05 bhp but its have more vibration we did not go for more than 35 km continues running at 80 kmph it its have more vibration less mileage . now the pulsar gets the new colors and more refinement and great pick up .
hunk is far far better than pulsar….
pulsar is the best.no compramise….
Nor hunk or pulsar can be compared with rtr 160 fi but this time i will buy hunk
Pls do not compare tvs apachi the flop bike in between this two strong bike in all conditions hero hunk is superb
i hv new hunk which gives me a fil lyk a muscular.. engine is 2 smooth than p150.. p150 gives u diffrnt sound in low speed at top gear.. but hunk is all tym smooth.. it is givin me d mileage upto 50.. n who says dat pulsar luks bttr dan hunk.. my opinion is pulsr luks lyk a racin byk.. n hunk luk lyk a muscel byk.. lyk royal enfild.. ny wys l lyk hunk.. havin low maintanance..
I hv tried both pulsar 150 n d new hunk. Believe me d new hunk is far better compare to pulsar 150. At high speed pulsar 150 makes huge noise nd vibration which ll make u really feel bad, but hunk is always d smoothest bike i can say even at d speed of 100km/hr also, While riding it u ll not feel dat d bike is running at dis speed without seeing d speedo. But d pulsar150 i can bet u ll b afraid to maintain speed while d bike crosses 80 km/hr.
Another point is- d distribution of weight is far better in hunk compared to pulsar. Nd in style hunk rocks. So guyz go for it. I m feeling proud as m one of d owner of d new HUNK.
Hunk is better than pulsar because of its starting pulling is like a Bull…
I hv tried both the bikes … but HUNK is ddddddddd best…
Pulsar simply sucks. I dont knw y people stil ging 4 pulsar. . Is just gud exterior evry1 needs. . ? I wonder. . Pulsar nt having gud fuel eficiency . . Nd needs frequent maintenance works nd vibrates at top speeds. . Hard gear change. . And totaly a low quality product. Guys dnt just b an ordinary ok. . U cant evn compare pulsar vth hunk . .
No 1 meses vth hunk. . It has evrytng wat an ideal 150cc b needs. . Nd stylish too. . Both exterior and interior.. .
Just note 1 thing. Hw many guys stated + ves abt pulsar. Theres a comon voice against pulsars quality. Those who say pulsar s beter, dnt hav a solid reason to state that. . Can say just it luks nice. Wat else. But hunk. I dont hav to xplain that. Nvr b a DIED FISH choosing pulsar
HUNK. Its 4 men with xtreme pasion. . .
at the end it is concluded that hunk is much more better than pulsar and all other 150cc bikes
I have been using a Bajaj 180cc bike for 4 years and now I am using a Hunk.
Controlling wise, the Hunk is very good. It has a very good pick up. Even with a pillion rider, starting climbing up a slope in 1st gear is very easy than the bajaj 180 cc though the hunk is 150 cc. In Bajaj 180 CC it is not that easy.
But in Hunk, the seat is terrible. It is very uncomfortable. The big slope on the seat gives pain to my buttocks.
Because of the shape of the seat, it is very difficult to carry at least one kid when riding with my wife.
Hero honda spare parts are expensive than Bajaj spare parts. But spare parts are better than bajaj spare parts.
Number of Bajaj spare parts dealers and service dealers are higher than Hero honda dealers.
In the same speed, the RPM goes very high in Hunk than the Bajaj 180cc.
So It is very difficult to say one bike is better than the other. Both have their own good and bad things.
So use a car instead…. hi hi hi hi
hunk is the best…… in all things suspension, power, fuel efficiency, overall maintenance, and everything… so as i think HERO HUNK is much better than BAJAJ PULSER 150.
i am purchase new hero Honda bike 6th month before, comfortable seating, smooth ride . ''I always like hunk '' & smoothly speed control.
"HUNK" bas naam hi kaafi hai….!! Don't Mess with Hunkers…!!! Yahan jo kehna hai keh lo Pulsar walon Road par panga mat lena pakad nhi paoge….!!
Aja fir..
HUNK is Royel. I LOVE HUNK
