Riding a bike is a real pleasure, though it is hard to come by on Indian roads. However, remember that, it is you who can stretch the pleasure with the bike at your disposal. Maintaining the bike in a proper state is your responsibility. Take care of your bike and your bike will take care of you.
Overburdening:
Remember to never overburden your bike. Now what does this mean? Avoid using unnecessary add-ons like heavy crash guards and oversize horns. They will do more bad than good to your bike. It may not be noticeable to you, but the millage certainly dips if there is weight the bike is always carrying with it around.
Air:
Always keep the air tightly filled in the tyres. Suitable air pressure automatically prompts the bike ahead. Tyres are happy when their belly full. So, they can easily carry the entire weight of the bike without trouble. Even the life of the tyres and tubes increase considerably, when the pressure is maintained. Make it a point to check the air pressure at least once a week. If you use the bike on a large scale, check it twice.
Fuel:
Listen, there is a secret for you all. If you need to feel your fuel tank, do it in morning times, the earlier the better. The secret is, the fuel is sold by volume and expands during the day when it gets hot. So, you get more to use than what you actually buy. It is science in daily use.
Another thing to keep in mind is, to never fill the tank to the brim. As mentioned above, the fuel will expand and if this happens, it will surely spill out of the tank. Even the filler caps on many bikes do leak once the rubber seal hardens and cracks. It is needless to mention, to tank up your bike from well know fuelling stations.
Cleanliness:
Last but not the least, all what matters is cleanliness. Believe it or not, an up-to-date clean bike helps in increasing the millage. Especially clean the moving parts and the dirt on the chain. Follow The Guide On Cleanliness Of Bikes Here!
