The new Hero Honda Glamour FI is the improved version of its predecessor the Hero Honda Glamour. However, it would be wrong to say that there are any major changes done in the new vehicle. A new logo and some minor changes in the graphics can be seen. However, the fuel-injection technology in the bike sets it apart.
It is the Programmed Electronic Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) fuel system that does magic for the bike. This technology makes it possible for the bike to keep offering better and consistent engine performance. This means the fuel economy is better and the overall driving is improved considerably. All this contributes to the extended life of the engine.
Among other looks the tubular double cradle type body-frame, the rear view mirrors, the visor add to the looks of the bike. The rear view mirrors incorporate the body colors. The exhaust pipe and the obtruding petrol tank are some of the body parts that attract instant attention. The bike has trendy looking black alloy wheels.
The bike comes in a 125cc engine with a displacement of 124.7cc. The Hero Honda Glamour FI incorporates air cooled, 4-stroke single cylinder OHC engine. It generates a maximum power of 6.72 kw (9 bhp) at 7000 rpm and peak torque of 10.35 Nm at 4000 rpm. The bike has a 4 Speed constant mesh gearbox.
The Hero Honda Glamour-FI consumes only 7.4 seconds to reach the 60 kmph mark. The strong engine of the bike even makes it possible to reach the 400m mark in only 22.4 seconds. The maximum top speed the bike can achieve is 98.7 kmph. The bike has a total fuel capacity of 12 liters with a usable reserve of 1.5 liters.
The analogue fuel gauge is replaced by the LCD fuel gauge. This Hero Honda bike comes in both self start and kick start options. Full Transisterised Ignition – FTI is used as the ignition system. As mentioned above, the Programmed Electronic Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) fuel system, gives the bike the extra bit of advantage over other bikes.
You can get a good fuel efficiency of around 60 kmpl in the city region alone. However, the efficiency increase on highways and can touch even the 80 kmpl mark on occasions. The powerful bike needs powerful brakes which are incorporated through the front disc brake which has 240mm dia, pad-non asbestoses type brakes, while the rear brake has drum type of 130mm.
The currently the vehicle is available in two colors, which are black and sporty red. But the black bike is not completely black in color. The rear parts of this bike like the rear suspension and tubes come in red. Apart from this, most of the other prominent parts of the bike have the body color used.
The length of the bike is 2005 mm, the height is 1070 mm and the width is 735 mm. The wheelbase of 1265 mm gives the correct amount of control over the bike. The Hero Honda Glamour FI has a moderate ground clearance of 150 mm.
