CBR250RNow, the 250 cc bikes for the middle class Indian consumers will no more be only a dream. The reason is the launch of the Honda CBR250R. Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) have launched the bike as a sports motorcycle. The launch of the bike was a long and tiresome one as it was on the cards for a very long time.

Even before its launch, there were about 2000 customers who were already ready to buy the sports vehicle. The bike is priced somewhere around Rs. 1.43 Lakhs for the non-ABS version at least this is affordable for the middle class Indian consumers, if not the ABS version which costs around Rs. 1.68 lakhs. (All the prices are ex-showroom Delhi.)

The Honda CBR250R bike will incorporate four stroke single cylinder, DOHC, four valve, liquid cooled, fuel injected engine. A thing worth telling about this engine is that, Honda has developed the engine from scratch. The uniqueness of the engine will be that it will only be used for the Honda CBR250R.

It is expected that the engine will belt out a maximum power of 25 Bhp. The bike will come in a six speed gearbox. You can drive the bike as fast as 160 kmph. Another feature of the bike is its acceleration and pickup. It will take less than seven seconds to reach a mindboggling speed of 100 kmph from the start.

The only thing that the avid bikers will have to wait for is the racing colors the Honda bikes have. For now, the Honda CBR250R will be available in three colors, namely silver, red and black.

The introduction of this bike will give Honda a big push in the high potential Indian market. The price tag will be worth every penny that you spend for.
