The looks of the Bajaj Discover 150cc are more or less the same like that of Discover 100cc. However, there are some features that make the 150cc variant look different from the 100cc bike. The bike is, no doubt, the best in the Discover segment. The more than acceptable thing is that the mud-guards and the cowl panels come in the matching body color.
As far as the Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme is concerned, it is a new model with very little resemblance to the older version of the CBZ. The noticeable thing is that the side indicators – both back and front merge with the main tail lamp and the head lamp of the bike. This gives the bike a new look which is certainly very attractive.
When it comes to the bikes of Bajaj, there has to be the patented DTSi technology in place. The Bajaj Discover 150 cc comes in 4 stroke, single cylinder, natural air cooled, DTS-i engine. The displacement of the engine is 148.8cc. This powerful engine dishes out a maximum power of around 13 PS at 7500 rpm and generates a peak torque of 12.75 Nm at 5500 rpm.
The Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme comes in an improved engine and performance which was not to be seen in the earlier version of the CBZ. The bike comes in a 4 stroke single cylinder air cooled OHC engine. The displacement of the engine is 142.7cc. The maximum power of the bike is 10.6 KW at 8500 rpm and the highest torque is of 12.80 Nm at 6500 rpm.
However, both bikes go almost hand in hand when it comes to the pickup and acceleration. The Bajaj bike takes around seven seconds to reach the 60 kmph mark; while CBZ Xtreme is a little faster. CBZ Xtreme takes only five seconds to reach the same speed.
The fuel capacity of the Bajaj bike is eight liters while the usable reserve is 1.5 liters. 12.3 liters is the capacity of the CBZ Xtreme while its reserve capacity is 1.5 liters.
One thing is for sure. The patented DTS-i technology has helped the Bajaj bike to increase the fuel efficiency to a very acceptable level. The bike can churn out a millage of 65 kmpl, which is very much acceptable in today’s circumstances. However, the CBZ Xtreme can give a millage of about 60 kmpl. There should not be much of a difference in this factor, though.
Now, what is equally important are the looks of the bikes which are enhanced by the color combinations. The color combination for the Discover 150cc is black with blue, black with maroon. The existence of the black shade perfectly suits the bike. As for the Xtreme, the black color is present in this bike too. Certainly, black is beautiful.
The length of the Bajaj Discover is 2030 mm, height is 1065 mm and the width is 760 mm. The ground clearance is 165 mm and the curb weight is 121 KG. For the CBZ Xtreme the dimensions are – length is 2080 mm, height 1145 mm width 765 mm. The ground clearance is a bit on the lower level with 145 mm and the curb weight is 141 KG.
