Hero Honda Splendor Pro – The Pro Bike From Splendor Series

When it comes to the Splendor series from the Hero Honda, all the variants are worth spending your money for. As far as the Splendor Pro is concerned, the looks and the overall appearance of the bike give you the bold and macho feeling. However, there is very little to choose from when it comes to the looks of the bike if compared with the other bikes from the Splendor series, especially the Super Splendor.

But this does not stop the bike from being counted in its own class. The fuel tank and the front portion of the bike along with the rear view mirrors give the bike a super look. It is not just the looks of the bike which will impress you. The performance of the bike is also of top notch and that is where it scores the most.

The Splendor Pro is equipped with 4 stroke air cooled single cylinder OHC engine. The displacement of the engine is 97.2 cc. The bike comes in both self start and kick start options. The maximum power the bike generates is 7.4 bhp at 8000 rpm and 7.95 Nm of high torque at 5000 rpm.

The 6 speed constant mesh transmission allows the rider smoother and swifter changes of gears. Therefore, there is lesser vibration and lesser noise even if you are driving at higher speeds. The zipper acceleration makes the drive an enjoyable experience.

However, the downside of this terrific bike is the usable reserve fuel. The bike has a fuel tank of 11 liters, but provides reserve of only one liter, which sounds somewhat disturbing. As far as the fuel economy goes, the bike performs well enough. At 60 kmpl, the performance is not too bad.

The brakes and the suspension used in the bike also are of A1 quality as it would respect a brand name like Hero Honda. As for the front wheel, there is the internal expanding shoe type 130 mm drum. The same brake is used for the rear wheel.

The telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers work well enough for the front wheel giving a good control even on patchy roads. There is the swing arm with hydraulic shock absorber for the rear.

The length of the bike is 1970 mm, the height is 1040 mm and the width is 720 mm. Taking into account these dimensions, the ground clearance of 169 mm looks okay. Among the other dimensions, the important ones are that of the tyres. The size of the front tyre is 2.75 x 18 – 4 PR/ 42P and the rear tyre is 2.75 x 18 – 6 PR/ 48P.

Black with purple stripe 3, blue, black with purple stripe 1, black with purple stripe 2, black with silver stripe, cloud silver, candy red and hi granite blue are the whopping eight colors in which the bike is available.
