Comparing: Honda CBF Stunner PGM FI VS Bajaj Pulsar 135

One of the lookalike pairs of bikes on the Indian roads happens to be that of the Honda CBF Stunner and the Bajaj Pulsar 135. There is not much to choose from between the two when it comes to the looks. They are so similar in their looks that, if you throw a sketchy and an unclear look at the bike, you cannot even make out which bike is of which company.

The resemblance gets uncanny when you glance at the wheels. Both the bikes have alloy wheels which come in black spokes. Both bikes have disc brakes for the front wheel. Both bikes have a step-up seat. However, the Honda bike has the pillion seat much raised than the Bajaj Pulsar. Both bikes look impressive due to their large size fuel tank.

Let us now get into some details so that you can understand a little more about these two bikes. First of all, let us head straight towards the engine specification to get a good idea.

The Honda CBF Stunner comes with a 4 stroke, air cooled PGM-FI SI engine. The 125cc bike has an engine displacement of 124.7cc. The bike generates a maximum power of 11.6 Bhp at 8000 rpm and creates a top torque of 11.2 Nm at 6250 rpm.

As for the Bajaj Pulsar 135, the bike has a 4 stroke, air cooled DTS-i engine. The Pulsar has an engine displacement of 134.66cc. The Pulsar creates a maximum power of 13.5 Ps at 9000 rpm and produces a peak power of 11.4 Nm at 7500 rpm.

The Bajaj has the DTS-i engine in place – their patented technology. That is why it helps in boosting the performance of the bike. This automatically increases the millage and saves on environment as well as your pocket.

The Honda bike can give an average of up to 50 kmpl. It comes with a fuel tank of 13 liters out of which 2 liters is of usable reserve. On the other hand, as motioned above, due to the DTS-i technology, the Bajaj performs better when it comes to millage. It gives a millage of 54 kmpl. The fuel tank of the Pulsar is little less 8 liters which has 2.5 liters of reserve.

The length, height and width of the CBF Stunner are 2012 mm, 1113 mm and 734 mm respectively. The ground clearance is of 173 mm. The brakes incorporated by the Stunner are the disc brake 240 mm dia for the front and the drum 130 mm dia for the rear.

There is the telescopic hydraulic fork suspension for the front wheel. For the rear wheel, there is the three step spring loaded hydraulic shock absorber.

The length of the Bajaj Pulsar is 2035 mm, the height is 1165 mm and the width is 750 mm and the ground clearance of 170 mm. The Pulsar has the 240 mm dia front disc brake, while for the rear there is the drum brake with 130 mm dia.

The suspension for the Pulsar is as follows: for the front wheel, there is telescopic fork with antifriction bush. The rear suspension is designed with the Nitrox trailing arm with co Axial hydraulic cum gas filled adjustable shock absorber with triple rate coil spring.

You will hardly find such a stiff competition between the two bikes anywhere else. It is, finally, a question of personal choice when it comes to choosing between these two bikes.
