Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India will be looking to draw the first blood by showing off their 100cc bike in the upcoming 2012 Auto Expo. The bike will be launched in the next year only and preparations are in full swing for the same. The launch will be a completely fresh one for the 100cc bike.
The company is expected to review the bike prices in the next month. Those will be some important days for the Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India as they have already increased the prices of their bikes as many as two times in this year. The increase in the cost of the raw material has forced the HMSI to increase the prices as well.
However, the price of their new two wheeler, is expected to be around Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 45,000. This is a competitive rate for the bike as the Bharat bike from Bajaj will also be there for the competition. For that reason, even if the prices of the raw material, is a reason for the HMSI to increase the prices, they cannot go too far with the decision.
This 100cc bike will be an important launch for the Honda Motors. Honda has not yet been able to bring any fruitful product to the masses. The all important reason was their JV with the Hero Group. That kept them tied up to a certain level. However, now as the JV no longer exists, the HMSI is making all out efforts to make things work for them now.
The upcoming bike is the proof of the same. To make their positon stronger in the market, they will also be making tie ups with various dealers around the country. They are also looking forward to expanding their network in India. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India plans to bring into operation as many as 300 outlets in India, by the end of this financial year.
