It has been ages since the Indian auto company – the Hero Group and the Japanese auto major Honda parted ways. In the meantime, both made their own headways in the market trying to capture as large a portion as possible. Some days back, the Munjal family had a grand official opening of their brand name in London.
But yet there is no bike in the market that would only boast of the ‘Hero’. But the wait is now over. The Impulse will be the first two wheeler, that will be launched in the market with the brand name – Hero MotoCorp. The bike will be launched at a price tag of Rs 66,800 (ex-showroom Delhi).
The Impulse has a 150cc engine. But that is equipped for a dual purpose. Customers can use it as a normal vehicle for commuting or can even go for an adventure ride. This double purpose of the bike will certainly attract a lot of customers. To cash in on this, the company is promoting their new bike during the current India-England bilateral cricket series.
The bike is gifted away to a player who excels both with the bat as well as the ball. This is the dual purpose that the bike stands for – commuter satisfaction and adventure.
The company statement said that they have already begun dispatching the bikes. They will be shortly accessible in the metro cities. It will also include the Tier-I cities, the statement read. Apart from the Impulse, the Maestro will be the other vehicle in the 110cc category that will be in the market under the Hero MotoCorp label.
As far as the price tag of the Impulse is concerned, it might be slightly on the higher front even when the bike is in the 150cc category. The other bikes in the same category like the CBZ Extreme, Achiever and the Hunk do not bear such a huge price tag. But the reason for the high price tag of the Impulse is the dual purpose of the bike accompanied by the features.
