Suzuki Motorcycle India is prepared to bring in the market their new model Hayate. It is a mass motorcycle and will be out in the market until the next month. The much talked of bike does also need a star that is much talked of star to market the bike. Who else can it be better than Salman Khan?
The Dabangg star has been chosen to be the face of the bike. Salman Khan will be featuring in the campaign that will be focusing on the Hayate. Apart from that the company will begin the mass media campaign that will usher in awareness for the Suzuki brands.
The Hayate is an 110cc (112.8cc) bike that will be a reason for an increased competition in the market in its class. The bikes that fall in the same category are Bajaj Discover, the Hero Splendor and the Dream Yuga – Honda’s soon to be launched bike.
Mr. Atul Gupta, who is the vice-president of the sales & marketing unit of SMIPL, said that even as the motorcycle brand in India keeps rising, the consumers show loyalty towards their favorite brand. The need of the hour is to be able to break into the system and divert the customers towards the Suzuki brand.
He also said that Salman Khan is a strong and fit person, which speaks for the products Suzuki is manufacturing and launching. The Bollywood star will be highlighting the bike for the Indian market very soon. The launch has almost been scheduled and things are falling to place as expected.
The company is also thinking of expanding their production base. Until the next year, the company plans to increase the production from the present 3.6 lakh units to something in the region of 5.4 lakh units. Suzuki also expects the service networks as well as the sales to be doubled in the next couple of years.
To step up the production, Suzuki might consider opening a second plant in the state of Haryana. It might be an investment of up to Rs. 2000 crores. It will have install capability of around 20 lakh units. The plant will be operational until the year 2014.
Salman khan is the third prominent Bollywood star to be a face of an auto company. He follows the other stars like John Abraham and Aamir Khan who have been signed for Yamaha and Mahindra two wheelers respectively.
