Looks like it is a case of early bird catches the worm. At the same time, they are leaving no stone unturned to be the earliest one to bring out their product into the market. There is no doubt that Honda Motors and Scooters India (HMSI) is trying to grab as big a market share as they can.
The cut-throat competition is making Honda step up on the gas and they are striving to bring their bikes in the market sooner. For this, the company’s third manufacturing unit will come in handy. However, it will not be before the next year, that this unit will be fully functional.
There is one thing that all the companies have recognized and it is the production capacity. Honda is also a strong competitor in the market in the two wheeler segment. They are a big name in the global market and will be looking to boost the production as much as they can.
Honda’s plant that is located at Narsapuram area in the city of Bangalore will have a capacity of 1.2 million units. The company already has a couple of plants in the country already. The first one is located in Manesar in Haryana, while the second one is in Alwar in Rajasthan. The two plants currently provide the company with a capacity of 2.8 million units.
There is no doubt that Honda is looking forward to taking up the production capacity. Their aim of 4 million units would be realized only if the third plant comes into the picture as early as possible.
The third plant would play as a time-saving measure for Honda. The units are sent to Thailand and Japan for testing. The same would be now done in India itself. Honda is impatiently waiting for the Bangalore plan to get functional.
