Bajaj Auto created waves in the Indian two wheeler auto industry, when they announced that the Kawasaki Ninja 650R would be available only for Rs. 4.75 lakhs. Yes, that was a pretty much competitive price in the Indian scenario. Bajaj started their venture in the high displacement two wheelers with this bike in India.
There was no time lost before the Kawasaki Ninja became a hit amongst the bike enthusiasts in the country. The bike got unprecedented response. At times, the response was so high that the company had to stop the bookings to keep pace with the speed of the demand the Ninja was receiving. That is something really incredible.
This is rarely seen in the Indian context when a bike that costs in an excess of Rs. 4.5 lakhs is receiving such a high demand. However, experts feel that Kawasaki should have allotted more units for the Indian market. Probably they were unaware of what kind of response the bike would get.
This year, Kawasaki has updated the Ninja 650R along with some serious thoughts about the Indian market. It was Bajaj who made it public that they would not be allotting more vehicles for the Indian market than what they had reserved at the previous times. So that is welcome news for those who have missed the bus, we mean the two wheeler.
If the news reports doing the rounds are to be believed, the company is looking forward to starting the bookings from this or the next month. If the previous trend is taken into account, the same response is expected for the next phase of booking as well. Expecting this, the company has already taken steps to meet the growing demand for the bike.
The company has made some changes in the old version and new bike will see some improved changes. The instrument cluster looks enhanced. The new bike will have a larger tachometer right above the digital speedometer. These enhancements should be another reason why the bike lovers will go for the Kawasaki Ninja 650R.
