BMW Motorard has unveiled two scooters at the Milan Motor Show. The scooters are C650 GT and C600 Sport. Both the scooters fall in the BMW Maxi category. Incidentally, both the scooters have the same engine – the 657cc engine. The engine can develop a top power of 60 Bhp and can reach a high torque of 50 lb-ft.

The bikes have been cleverly categorized by the company. The C650 GT is aimed at people living in bigger cities. According to the company this is the bike that is an ideal one when it comes to city traffic, the problems of the parking lots and congestions. In short, it should be the best choice when it comes to busy traffic cities.

Moreover, it works best when it comes to long drives away from the city. It can give you a comfortable ride no matter where you are travelling. The larger and spacious pillion seats makes life more comfortable for the person behind. There is the electronically adjustable windscreen. So that serves the purpose of the rider too.

However, the BMW C600 is a lightly designed bike. It means to interpret that it may be easy to ride in the city limits. But it is certainly not as comfortable as the C650GT. It holds lesser cargo space as well. The plus points of the C600 are that it has good acceleration. So that should work towards good performance. As long as you use the bike in the city limits, it will be a pleasure for you.

BMW hopes to increase their business through their outlet Navnit Motors in Mumbai. They are planning to sell at least 50 units till the year end.

It was on 6 May, 2011 that the company officially manufactured the two-millionth motorcycle.

The special edition of the bike R 1200 GS was uncovered on the occasion. Stunt God Chris Pfeiffer, who recently visited India, was the special celebrity who unveiled the R 1200 GS.

In the cat race between Hero Group and Honda Motors, the Hero Motors have gained a big hand in the auto industry. They have got a valuable contract with none other than the BMW company. The Hero Group will be responsible for manufacturing one of the most important parts in a bike – the gearbox.

Another good thing for the company is that the contract for the Hero Motors has been awarded on a bigger scale. Hero will be the one and only supplier for both the domestic as well as the international markets. This literally gives them one-upmanship as far as important component like the gearbox is concerned.

The deal between BMW and Hero Motors has been signed for a minimum of five years, which can be extended by another three years if needed. The increase in the tenure of the deal will be decided on the sourced transmissions for various BMW products.

It is generally a trend that the company that manufactures a bike develops its own gearboxes as well. However, in this case, the expertise of the Hero Motors would be used to use the gearboxes developed by them for the BMW superbikes. This outsourcing from Hero Motors would be done on a global level.

Even if India is considered as a potential auto market, it is very often mentioned that, India exports bike components worth about $5 billion every year. This trend has been in practice for some years now. Keeping this new deal in mind, the outsourcing is only likely to increase in the coming years.

Hero Group has been doing well with their transmission business. It has been growing by almost 70 per cent continuously for some years now.

The deal, which was inked on Tuesday, will open up new doors for the Hero Group as a component supplier for the BMW superbikes.

The Indian auto market for the superbikes is increasing nowadays. The auto companies are of the opinion that, even a country like India has the potential to have customers who can afford superbikes. Keeping this in mind, BMW, a major player in the auto industry has set themselves a target.

According to the company sources, they want to sell as many as 50 superbikes in India in the current year. Apart from that, the company also plans to launch bikes which will be lesser than 1000 cc. This new launch is also expected to be in this year itself.

The BMW is already trying to spread their wings in India. It may be recalled that the German based company had made its debut in the two-wheeler segment in India only at the start of this year.

According to the numbers provided by the company, BMW has already sold 23 superbikes and are very much on the lines to sell the remaining 27. They have enough time to get to the number they have specified for themselves. If the going gets on track for them, they can even cross the 50 mark.

BMW Motorrad is how the two-wheeler products of the BMW are known around the world. Currently, the company has outlets only in Mumbai and Delhi from where they operate. All the new bikes of the company are delivered through these two outlets only.

The company is performing well in India and this will be a strong reason why they should go for more outlets to cater to the growing business. Currently, BMW imports bikes in the Indian market through Deutsche Motoren and Navnit Motors.

S1000 RR and R1200 GS are the two models which are performing well for the company. As of now, the models from BMW cross the Rs. 18 lakh figure and are in the capacity of 1000cc or above.

BMW Bikes Will Be ‘Probably’ Seen On Indian Motorways Prior To End Of This Year

The BMW motorcycles will be imported soon or may be they have already got some machines in abstraction and the sales shall begin in the month of December. There is no official pricing yet on the bikes but i just got into HindustanTimes official website and it says that the BMW bikes will accompany a price tag over Rs18lakhs which is undoubtedly not affordable for majority of super-bike fans- source::

Yes you have guessed right – its BMW. And finally we got an update from desk of President of BMW, India that the company will be soon launching power bikes in India.
