class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3961" title="2012-BMW-C650GT_3" src="http://www.bikespace.in/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/2012-BMW-C650GT_3.jpg" alt="" width="640" height="426" />BMW Motorard has unveiled two scooters at the Milan Motor Show. The scooters are C650 GT and C600 Sport. Both the scooters fall in the BMW Maxi category. Incidentally, both the scooters have the same engine – the 657cc engine. The engine can develop a top power of 60 Bhp and can reach a high torque of 50 lb-ft.

The bikes have been cleverly categorized by the company. The C650 GT is aimed at people living in bigger cities. According to the company this is the bike that is an ideal one when it comes to city traffic, the problems of the parking lots and congestions. In short, it should be the best choice when it comes to busy traffic cities.

Moreover, it works best when it comes to long drives away from the city. It can give you a comfortable ride no matter where you are travelling. The larger and spacious pillion seats makes life more comfortable for the person behind. There is the electronically adjustable windscreen. So that serves the purpose of the rider too.

However, the BMW C600 is a lightly designed bike. It means to interpret that it may be easy to ride in the city limits. But it is certainly not as comfortable as the C650GT. It holds lesser cargo space as well. The plus points of the C600 are that it has good acceleration. So that should work towards good performance. As long as you use the bike in the city limits, it will be a pleasure for you.

BMW Motorrad will launch less than 1000 cc bikes in India

BMW

News Journal
<guid

The brand is known for its integrity and one-upmanship in the business. It has remained one of the best brands in the luxury segment. Even today the cars of this make give a thrilling experience to the drivers.

Taking advantage of the name it has in the market, BMW is heading some good steps in the two wheeler market as well. As every auto maker targets the Indian market, the BMW fares no better. They are focusing on entering the Indian market with their under 1000c bikes. They may be launched by the early next year.

However, BMW is yet without its own network in India. But the bikes are brought into the country through the CBU route. The bikes are shipped in from Berlin. That gives a big setback to the BMW. The reason is the price tag. The prices of the BMW bikes are much higher than that of the Honda, Suzuki or Yamaha bikes.

The company is focusing on the 450cc and 500cc bikes in India. That is what their initial target is – introducing the below 1000cc bikes. This is just the beginning for the company as of now. They cannot be restricted to only the 500cc bikes. In the long run, BMW Motorrad will certainly target bikes in the 800cc segment.

It is expected that after the introduction of 450cc and 500cc bikes, BMW will come up with 600cc bikes first. The F800 R, the BMW X3 and the G650gs are some of the bikes that will be interesting to watch out for by the customers.

BMW hopes to increase their business through their outlet Navnit Motors in Mumbai. They are planning to sell at least 50 units till the year end.

Spy Shots Of BMW e-Scooter Leaked On The Internet

BMW

News Journal

Since some days, we had reported to you about the spy images of some of the leading bike brands which were on their way to hit the market. In spite of the company guarding their new products, spy photographers managed to get some clips of these favorite brands.

However, the list of such bikes is not over as yet. The next bike in line which got spy photographed is the new BMW E Scooter. The BMW manufactures their two-wheelers under the brand name BMW Motorrard. The BMW E Scooter is the electric scooter that the company is working on launching.

The electronic scooters are inspired from the launch of the model the BMW ‘i’. Well, the ‘i’ is a brand that they have launched for the future cars. However, the German company has decided to use the similar features as much as possible in their two-wheelers as well. This is a brand name for the environment friendly bikes in the days to come.

The manufacturing of the electronic motorcycle has got a helping hand from the Government of Germany. The project is also partly funded by the German Government. That is why the manufacturing for the company is going on good lines.

As far as the bike is concerned, it can run more or less 100 KMs once fully charged. The bike is a powerful machine and can easily perform like a 600cc superbike. The batteries of the bike come with the body frame itself. They are fitted in the aluminium frame of the bike.

As there is still come time for the bike to make an official way in, in front of the public eye, the company is not ready to divulge any details. However, the bike can be seen in one of the auto expos in this year itself.

A Milestone For The BMW Motorrad – Its 20,00,000th Motorcycle

BMW

News Journal
<guid

The joy of reaching the 20, 00,000 mark in motorcycle production is a milestone in itself. This is what the company has proudly achieved. The vehicle to get the honor of being the 20,00,000th motorcycle was the R 1200 GS model.

The company is one of the select few, which is staring at 100 years of completion. The company has been going steady since 1923. There have been a lot of difficulties and troubles the company has faced all these years. The company has gone through a World War and seen many economical ups and downs.

However, in spite of all this, BMW has been successful in introducing trend setting bikes and highly advanced technology. BMW is a big name in the auto industry today. The bikes introduced by the company have been upgraded whenever necessary and they still continue to dominate the market as effectively as ever.

The company is 88 years old now. The two-millionth motorcycle was completely manufactured at the Berlin Spandau plant of the company. The Berlin Spandau has been up and running for 44 years now. It went operational in the year 1969. The bikes manufactured at this plant have been exported to as many as 130 countries around the world. This is a big achievement for the Berlin Spandau plant in itself.

There is no doubt that the manufacturing of the 20,00,000th bike brought along with itself its part of celebrations. Klaus Wowereit, who is the Governing Mayor of Berlin, was the special guest at the celebration party. There were some specially invited guests for the party as well along with the entire staff of the company. It was on 6 May, 2011 that the company officially manufactured the two-millionth motorcycle.

The special edition of the bike R 1200 GS was uncovered on the occasion. Stunt God Chris Pfeiffer, who recently visited India, was the special celebrity who unveiled the R 1200 GS.

Hero Motors To Supply Gearboxes To BMW Superbikes

BMW

Hero Honda

News Journal
<guid

They have got a valuable contract with none other than the BMW company. The Hero Group will be responsible for manufacturing one of the most important parts in a bike – the gearbox.

Another good thing for the company is that the contract for the Hero Motors has been awarded on a bigger scale. Hero will be the one and only supplier for both the domestic as well as the international markets. This literally gives them one-upmanship as far as important component like the gearbox is concerned.

The deal between BMW and Hero Motors has been signed for a minimum of five years, which can be extended by another three years if needed. The increase in the tenure of the deal will be decided on the sourced transmissions for various BMW products.

It is generally a trend that the company that manufactures a bike develops its own gearboxes as well. However, in this case, the expertise of the Hero Motors would be used to use the gearboxes developed by them for the BMW superbikes. This outsourcing from Hero Motors would be done on a global level.

Even if India is considered as a potential auto market, it is very often mentioned that, India exports bike components worth about $5 billion every year. This trend has been in practice for some years now. Keeping this new deal in mind, the outsourcing is only likely to increase in the coming years.

Hero Group has been doing well with their transmission business. It has been growing by almost 70 per cent continuously for some years now.

The deal, which was inked on Tuesday, will open up new doors for the Hero Group as a component supplier for the BMW superbikes.

In 2011 Bmw Plans To Sell 50 Superbikes In India

BMW

News Journal

The Indian auto market for the superbikes is increasing nowadays. The auto companies are of the opinion that, even a country like India has the potential to have customers who can afford superbikes. Keeping this in mind, BMW, a major player in the auto industry has set themselves a target.

According to the company sources, they want to sell as many as 50 superbikes in India in the current year. Apart from that, the company also plans to launch bikes which will be lesser than 1000 cc. This new launch is also expected to be in this year itself.

The BMW is already trying to spread their wings in India. It may be recalled that the German based company had made its debut in the two-wheeler segment in India only at the start of this year.

According to the numbers provided by the company, BMW has already sold 23 superbikes and are very much on the lines to sell the remaining 27. They have enough time to get to the number they have specified for themselves. If the going gets on track for them, they can even cross the 50 mark.

BMW Motorrad is how the two-wheeler products of the BMW are known around the world. Currently, the company has outlets only in Mumbai and Delhi from where they operate. All the new bikes of the company are delivered through these two outlets only.

The company is performing well in India and this will be a strong reason why they should go for more outlets to cater to the growing business. Currently, BMW imports bikes in the Indian market through Deutsche Motoren and Navnit Motors.

S1000 RR and R1200 GS are the two models which are performing well for the company. As of now, the models from BMW cross the Rs. 18 lakh figure and are in the capacity of 1000cc or above.
<p

Isn’t that quick enough? Rather amazing stuff from the legendary Motorrads.

You may soon witness advertisement over TV or some media with some tag as “BMW Bikes For Sale” Wow, seems India is finally turning into world class motorcycle market. The BMW motorcycles will be imported soon or may be they have already got some machines in abstraction and the sales shall begin in the month of December. BMW is said to initiate sales by K and R series bikes including some power superbikes like BMW S 1000RR.

There is a limitation from the company over distribution that the sales will be made in cities of Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore only. This may be a survey for the company and sales are expected to propagate in other major cities too.

Above news is based on the following news release from BMW Official desk:

“The BMW Group has already established itself very successfully in India with a local BMW automobile production and a sales network for BMW Group automobiles. Now the market for premium motorcycles is beginning to develop, too. The sales activities now commencing with our two experienced BMW Group partners are of long-term significance to BMW Motorrad. style="text-align: justify;">Almost everyone is in here, every paramount bikes manufacturer! I am in consideration with world’s second largest motorcycle selling nation – INDIA! But someone was lacking behind. Yes you have guessed right – its BMW. And finally we got an update from desk of President of BMW, India that the company will be soon launching power bikes in India. The decision is as a result of passion and love of Indian citizens towards super bikes, quoted Mr. Andreas Schaaf.

BMW has retained their position to be finest and supreme manufacturers of super bikes round the Globe. May be they are late but finally they are here. The decision will be finalized within a month and released over official report.

The first entry from BMW in Indian market has to be sufficiently extreme to co-up with the upcoming from Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha. But again as a news the company has announced the first launch to be BMW K 1300. It’s a very powerful and a superbike in true meaning. But they have a complete list to work over under which bikes like BMW G 450 X, BMW R 1200 GS, BMW F 800 ST, BMW R 1200 R, BMW S 1000 RR, etc fall within. They might follow the K 1300 but it will definitely cost a lot of time.

BMW is looking forward to offer Indians with tour bikes as well as sports one. The product from such a company is honor to watch delivered. But at the offset, let’s hope we get a special edition of BMW K 1300 which was already launched in many countries.
<p
