Among the many other expected releases that we have informed you already, there is one more addition to the list. There are reports about new launches almost every day.

This time it is the Royal Enfield. The legendary Indian bike maker will take the opportunity to bring in the public view their latest model – the Royal Enfield Gear. However, the company will not be stopping with the launch only. They have more plans to execute during the Auto Expo. One of the plans is to make available the accessories as well as goodies.

The company has given more info about the accessories available in the Auto Expo. The good thing about the accessories is that, they will be accessible to the customers anywhere in the world. However, RE has advised the customers to buy their desired pieces of accessories online as they come at affordable prices.

The company is of the opinion that their new bike will give a tough competition to other companies like Harley Davidson. Along with that, the launch will also help the company to get a sound footing in the Indian two wheeler market. That will not be the end of the Auto Show for Royal Enfield. They will also be displaying a massive fleet of bikes that will be followed by various thoughts and ideas.

Whatever be their products, the company has a good quality control over them. Moreover, they have been designed taking the needs of the bikers into account. Now, it remains to be seen what kind of response, do the customers give to the accessories.

There is no doubt that the upcoming Auto Expo holds the future for many bike makers and various brands.

Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500 May Not Be Launched For Six Months

News Journal

Royal Enfield
<guid

But now according to the new reports emanating from reliable sources, the launch of the bike may not materialize in the next six months. There had been a lot of discussions over the launch of the bike on various forums on the internet. However, there seems to be a crystal clear answer that is enough to put aside all the doubts.

There are reasons for postponing the launch of the bike though. The reason for the postponement is the Classic range. The Classic range bikes are getting a good response in the market. The will be longer for the Thunderbird lovers. However, there is pressure on Royal Enfield to try and meet the increasing demand for the bike from the market. The single cylinder bikes have indeed made their mark in the Indian market as well as the overseas markets.

The Unit Construction Engine has been a trend-setter and has blown a new ray of standard of living amongst the bike’s followers. And why should it not be? There is the low maintenance and increased fuel efficiency which should work in the customers’ favors.

The prototypes of the Thunderbird 500 that comes with the UCE500 engine have already been made. However, a wait of half a year seems to be unavoidable at the moment.

Classic Royal Enfield Bikes Show Up At The Cockermouth Bike Shop

News Journal

Royal Enfield

Today, a glimpse at the vintage vehicles is a pleasure indeed, be it cars or bikes. As Royal Enfield is one of the oldest bike manufacturers, it has lots of bikes that could be put in the ‘vintage’ category. If you want to see such vintage bikes, then they are at the Lorton Street former fire station.

Now you may think how the vintage bikes are in London – they have to be in India, as the company is Indian? As a matter of fact, the vintage bikes on display were manufactured in London itself. They were used in the early 1900s, when Royal Enfield was producing these bikes in England. However later, the company stopped the production. But the production is still on in Chennai.

Even if the bikes are vintage, they are well equipped with the regulatory acts and are tested for their performance and emission output. The standards that are set are strict and all comply with the European type bikes. Going back to the vintage bikes, there is something interesting about these vintage bikes.

The bikes are styled as per the customers’ demands. The bikes have been maintained so perfectly, that about four to five of them are in a perfect condition and ready to be sold. The management of the company is hoping to obtain more bikes to be able to sell them.

If the traditional nature of the village is taken into account, then there should be more sales as it gives a good viewing experience. It happens due to the slow nature of the bikes as against the fast paced racing bikes. The low and slow speed of the bike runs to the good advantage of the rider.

There are these custom made bikes available for various age groups. So that should drive in more and more customers.

Royal Enfield Announces The Rider Mania 2011

Beyond 2Wheels

News Journal

Racing Events

Royal Enfield
<guid

The ninth edition of Rider Mania has been announced for the year 2011 by Royal Enfield. The programme will be a three day event from 18th to 20th November. The announcement was made recently.

It is an annual event organized by the Royal Enfield. All the interested bikers make their way to The Hill Top, Vagator, Goa. There are literally hundreds and thousands of bike lovers who find their way to Goa. The popularity of the event has been growing day by day.

The duration of the Rider Mania brings together bikers who share their stories with other bikers. They have a lot of things in common like, their exciting stories, their bikes, adventures and of course, the love for biking. These bikers even get a chance to showcase their motorcycle skills.

To bring more excitement to the Rider Mania, the RE team has come up with undersized but interesting events. Some of these include “Carry your Royal Enfield” “Dirt Track Racing”, “Slow Race”, “Trials” and even “Arm Wrestling”. And yes, there is much more to watch out for.

Out of that “much more” there will also be a photography contest conducted directly by the Royal Enfield team. To give a boost to the Royal Enfield bikes, they have another contest on hands. This one is about the custom bike competition. You have to make a custom Royal Enfield bike. There will be judges to give their opinion upon and to select the best custom made Royal Enfield bike.

If you are getting excited about the entry to the Rider Mania, then hold on. The registration has yet not started. However, you can get more information as and when the company comes out with it here on <a

If their dreams realize, then it would be a big boost for the Indian automobile industry. Royal Enfield – India’s oldest bike manufacturing company today, is contemplating upon manufacturing a bike that would run on diesel.

It is the sheer need to explore greater horizons and contribute in the field with something new. In another development for the company, they are also thinking upon entering the 750cc segment bikes as well. They plan to go past the 750cc bikes in the coming days. However, the 350cc and the 500cc capacity bikes that the company produces are still with lesser competition.

The CEO of the company said that a bike with the 750cc category that comes with twin cylinders is still in its budding days. There is hardly any fight in this category. However, at the same time, he also said that the amount of vehicles in the segment do not seem to paint a cozy picture as of now.

Royal Enfield is working on introducing the diesel powered bikes in the Indian market. However, it is not the first time that any company will be contemplating upon diesel powered two wheelers. Earlier, in 1990s, it was the very same RE that had brought diesel powered bikes in the country.

However, the demand and supply ratio is too inverse to handle right now. Royal Enfield has a production capacity of 75,000 units per year. However, the demand for the Classic variants is so high that there is a waiting period of almost one full year. Even a city like Mumbai is facing the draught of the supply.

To address this issue, the company is planning a new plant near Channai. It covers land of about 50 acres. Royal Enfield wants to make the plant fully operational until the beginning of the year 2013. If it so happens, the production will increase by 1, 50,000 units per year.

Cafe Racer will be one of the first launches that might materialize at the latest in around 18 months.

Royal Enfield: Classic Chrome And Desert Storm To Take You By Storm

News Journal

Royal Enfield

Royal Enfield is really not the consumer type of bike species in India. It is strictly for those who want to enjoy the heavily built machines by the company. However, today’s Royal Enfield is not that of what we used to see ages ago. Today, the company is also looking to have more style and modern looks to the bike.

To address this, RE has introduced two bikes which are the Classic Chrome and Desert Storm. There is style, there is leisure and there are all the modern looks in the bike an avid RE lover would expect to be. However, it is not only the looks that should drive you crazy. The bikes are also performance oriented. So that should be good news to those who are looking for a Royal Enfield bike.

The Classic Chrome

<img
class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3704" title="Royal-Enfield-UCE500-Classic-Chrome" src="http://www.bikespace.in/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Royal-Enfield-UCE500-Classic-Chrome.jpg" alt="royal enfield"width="600" height="346" />The Classic Chrome makes one nostalgic. It takes you back to the good old days. The very design of the bike tells you that it is a Royal Enfield product. The bike is distinctively designed to suit the style of today’s youngsters. The wide mud guards, the tool box in the oval shape and the good old lamps are well in place to speak for the confidence oozing out of the RE bikes.

Apart from that the single spring seat makes you think a big fundamentalist about the bike, as the design has been inherited from the 1950s bikes. The details like the font used for the speedometer also take you 60 years back.

Like the Desert Storm, the Classic Chrome also comes with a 500cc TwinSpark engine. The vehicle can create a high power of 27.2 bhp.

The bike costs around Rs. 1, 50,659 (Ex- Showroom Price, Mumbai). The on road price of the bike is Rs. 1, 65,400.

The Desert Storm

<img
class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3705" title="Royal-Enfield-Classic-Desert-Storm-500" src="http://www.bikespace.in/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Royal-Enfield-Classic-Desert-Storm-500.jpg" alt="royal enfield"width="540" height="357" />The rider is taken by storm when he rides the Desert Storm. It is one of its kind bikes today that makes a difference for itself. Certainly, it does stand apart in the crowd of the bikes today. Therefore, it is rightly said that the bike gets its inspiration from the World War age. What takes us in those days is the macho looks along with the sandy color.

The side panels, the thigh pads and the fuel tank are some of the objects in the bike that hardly misses to impress us. Most of the technical features of the bike are equivalent to the Classic Chrome.

The bike comes with a 500cc TwinSpark engine. The bike can generate a high power of 27.2 bhp and is available in the EFIS (Electronic Fuel Injection System).

The bike costs in the region of Rs. 1, 43,967 (Ex- Showroom Price, Mumbai), while the on road price is Rs. 1, 58,200.

Royal Enfield Wants More Powerful Engines

News Journal

Royal Enfield

Royal Enfield is in the real sense a motorcycle manufacturer that has been making powerful engines and motorcycles since decades. However, as the competition is growing, they now want more of powerful engines to keep themselves in the race. That will not only keep them in the contest, but will also give them advanced bikes

There is a reason why Royal Enfield wants powerful engines. The demand for more powerful bikes is growing almost in the major bike markets in the world. Moreover, the quality of the developed machines is constantly on the rise. It would not be possible for Royal Enfield to remain in the competition without updating their bikes.

However, the Indian manufacturer is on its way to achieving their target. To develop high quality and sturdy motorbikes, Royal Enfield has come in collaboration with some other bike manufacturers. It has not yet been disclosed with which companies Royal Enfield has collaborated. But one thing is sure the new alliance will give more exposure to Royal Enfield to build bikes as per their liking.

The Royal Enfield Bullet Classic 500 is one such powerful bike. It comes with a 500cc engine – as its name suggests. Apart from that, it has a single cylinder engine, which is known as the Unit Construction Engine. The engine uses fuel injection rather than a carburetor. This helps in decreasing friction that is caused in the moving parts. This in turn brings down the level of losses that could have materialized through transmission.

On the other side of the powerful bike, there is the Royal Enfield Bullet Classic 350. A classic speedometer, a short silencer and a fuel warning indicator are some of the features of this bike. The bike which is currently available in the Indian market, costs around Rs. 1, 00,000.

Royal Enfield Introduces Bikes With The Good Old Look

News Journal

Royal Enfield

Do you believe that old is gold? Well, if you don’t yet, then start believing in it. The reason is, the Royal Enfield bikes are coming back in an old fashioned avatar. It was more than 60 years when the bikes were first introduced for primarily for the use of the army. However, as days went by, the bike took a good grip on the minds of the common man as well.

The company statement says that the overall design of the bike has not gone many changes since its inception in 1949. The bike has been manufactured with loosely the same design for all these years. It is expected that the company will keep the spoke version for the bike intact. Yes, there were minor changes in the design of the engine around a couple of years ago. That was needed when the Classic version was due for release.

Royal Enfield is first and foremost recognized as the manufacture of the Bullet model. The Classic 500 model is Royal Enfield’s latest entry in the bike world. The company was expecting to sell around 200 units in one single month. However, there was a huge response and the company could not provide bikes for all the bookings.

The bike carries a price tag of Rs. 1.5 lakhs. That is why the company has a target of producing at least 100 bikes on a daily basis. The Chennai plant is having the highest load of manufacturing. It has a waiting period of 8 months. The demand plummeted by 40 per cent.

No wonder, the company is planning hard to increase its production capacity by at least two folds. Currently Royal Enfield manufactures 70,000 units and they plan to take this up to 1, 50,000 units in the next couple of years.

Royal Enfield Likely To Launch The Classic 500cc Desert Storm

News Journal

Royal Enfield

The Indian bike manufacturer Royal Enfield is in the news again. The Chennai based company will be launching the Desert Storm model of the Classic 500. The launch is expected to take place anytime in the month of September. The exact date of the launch is still not officially known.

Even if the bike will be newly launched, there will not be any major technical changes. The engine power remains the same as earlier. However, there are some visual changes. The changes are made quite eye-pleasing, especially the color of the bike. It is certainly a reason to make you go for the bike.

The sandy-beige color is something that is used probably for the first time by Royal Enfield. The color gives you an impression of the desert. That is why the bike has been named as the Desert Storm. However, it is not known for sure if the Classic 500cc Desert Storm will be launched in any other color apart from the sandy-beige color.

The bike has the trust and belief of Royal Enfield. The classic model that is waiting to be launched is another example of it. The traditional spoke wheels of the bike give it a real classic look with the sandy-beige color. The price tag of Rs. 1.5 (approx.) does not seem to be too heavy considering the trust Royal Enfield has generated over the years.

This powerful bike is expected to generate a top power of 27.2 Bhp and a high torque of 41.3 Nm. This is sheer power for such a bike that comes in 5 speed gearbox.

The launch of the Classic 500cc Desert Storm is just a matter of time for now. However, one thing remains to be confirmed if Royal Enfield will launch Classic Desert Storm in a 350cc variant.

Royal Enfield To Launch 750cc And 1000cc Bullet

News Journal

Royal Enfield
<guid

It is reported that the auto maker is planning to launch its popular Bullet model in different segments now. Royal Enfield is venturing into bigger and stronger bikes in the coming days. As of now, the RE is manufacturing bikes in the 350cc and 500cc category.

But the company is planning to launch bikes with bigger capacities. If things go as planned for the company, they will soon be manufacturing bikes in the 750cc and 1000cc category. Currently, the 350cc and the 500cc bikes are sold in the range of Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 1.5 lakhs.

As there are other foreign companies making their way in the Indian market with superbikes that are in the range of 750cc and 1000cc, there is no reason why a local Indian company should not go for it. Suzuki, Yamaha and Honda and many more companies do have their bikes in these categories in the Indian market and they are doing well despite comparatively higher prices for the common Indian consumers.

These bikes are highly priced for the Indian middle order families so to say. However, the data in the last couple of years are enough to prove that the Indian consumer is getting choosier. The price tag hardly matters to him if the product is carrying quality with it.

Call it a forced competition, but Royal Enfield had to jump in the market of high priced bikes sooner or later. They also had to think of the variants and the bikes that they are offering in a particular segment.

However, there will soon be an official statement from the company about which variants they will be launching and when. That is why it would be too premature to comment anything yet. But be tuned to bikespace.in to know more about the latest developments.
