class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3976" title="hero-honda-pleasure" src="http://www.bikespace.in/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/hero-honda-pleasure-big1.jpg" alt="Hero Honda Pleasure"width="588" height="331" />The Hero Honda Pleasure model has been tagged as the one for being targeted specially for the girls. This is one thing that has put off many boys as they feel it is vehicle that does not behave of the boys to ride it. The reason for such a thought to arise is because many people feel that Pleasure has the almost same capacity as Honda Activa and Honda Dio.

But nevertheless, the vehicle is equally loved by both the boys and the girls, given the fact that the model is a performance oriented one. Pleasure falls in the Scooterette segment. It has a top speed of 77 kmph. It is a powerful bike with a displacement of 102 cc. The four stroke engine comes with air cooling system. Pleasure develops high power of 7 Bhp at 7000 rpm and generates a top torque of 7.85 Nm at 5000 rpm.

<img
class="alignleft size-full wp-image-3977" title="rear-hero-honda-pleasure" src="http://www.bikespace.in/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/rear-hero-honda-pleasure.jpg" alt="Hero Honda Pleasure"width="195" height="147" />The bike is a pleasure to drive indeed as it has a very smooth pickup. The acceleration is smart enough to keep the bike smoothly moving. Another feature why it is easier for the females to use it is because the bike is free of gears. As a matter of fact, there are automatic gears installed in the bike and they change according to the speed of the vehicle.

The 102 cc bike is comparatively lighter with a total weight of 104 kg. That is why it is easier for the college going girls to handle it. The ground clearance of the Pleasure is 125 mm. As the bike is expected to be used in the city limits, it has a low fuel capacity of only 5 liters. Taken into account the displacement and the power of the vehicle, the fuel tank could have been a tad larger.

<img
class="alignright size-full wp-image-3979" title="inside-hero-honda-pleasure" src="http://www.bikespace.in/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/inside-hero-honda-pleasure.jpg" alt="Hero Honda Pleasure"width="190" height="145" />The fuel tank sits pretty under the seat which is one single piece without a step-up seat. Under the seat of the bike, there is enough room to place your things like a small carry bag. It can fit in itself a helmet fairly easily too.

The wheelbase of the Pleasure – 1240 mm and the wheel size of 3.5 X 10 – 3.5 X 10 mm is enough to give good support while driving in the crowded city places. The tubeless alloy wheels make your riding experience a pleasurable one without the tension of thinking of getting your tyres punctured.

<img
class="alignleft size-full wp-image-3980" title="interior-hero-honda-pleasure" src="http://www.bikespace.in/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/interior-hero-honda-pleasure.jpg" alt="Hero Honda Pleasure"width="193" height="147" />The length of the bike is 1750 mm, the width is 705 mm and the height is 1100 mm. The pass-light and low fuel indicator exists as the features of the bike. However, features like the low oil indicator, low battery indicator and high oil temperature indicator are missing from the features line up.

However, the fuel gauge and the speedometer come in the analogue form. And now finally, let us come to the safety features. For the front suspension, there is the bottom loaded with springs and swing arm with spring is for the rear. As for the brakes, both the front and the rear brakes are inclusive of internal expanding shoe type.

Hero Honda Pleasure Price

Rs. 42,172/-

Hero Honda Pleasure Tech Specs

Engine Type Air Cooled, 4-stroke Single Cylinder OHC

href="http://www.bikespace.in/2011/01/tvs-scooty-pep-review/">Pep+, the Teenz and the Streak are some of the models that come to mind. The Teenz is one of the models that suit the college-going girls/boys. It has a sleek and modern design that represents today’s young generation.

As the vehicle is quite light, it is expected to be strictly used only within the city limits. The top speed of the Scooty Teenz is 40 kmph. The capacity of the fuel tank is 4.5 liters. The design and the graphics on the vehicle give it a trendy look and make it look quite attractive. The self-start option is a big plus when ladies do not wish to keep kicking to start the bike.

Though there is not any presence of a step-up seat, the Teenz has room enough on the seat that will make one comfortable when seated. It is not only about the room, but the seat is broad at the center, giving enough space to position comfortably atop it. The legroom in between is enough to allow a taller person to sit further back on the seat and make herself comfortable.

<img
class="size-full wp-image-3467 alignright" title="" src="http://www.bikespace.in/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/tvs-scooty-teenz-3.jpg" alt="Scooty Teenz"width="277" height="369" />The TVS Teenz comes with a 2 stroke, single cylinder, air cooled engine. The displacement of the engine is 59.9cc. This is not too bad considering the fact that, the bike has a primary use in the city. The Teenz generates a maximum power of 3.5 Bhp at 5500 rpm while it creates a top torque of 4.5 Nm at 5000 rpm.

Many people prefer to use vehicles like the Teenz to learn riding for the first time. The reason is that, it comes with automatic gear system. So, the complicated hassles of learning the combination of the clutch and the accelerator can be averted. For many first-timers, the use of a clutch and gears is a no-no.

The Scooty Teenz has a length of 1685 mm, a height of 1060 mm and a width of 590 mm. The bike weighs only 82 KGs. It is a light vehicle and therefore easy to handle without much fuss. The Teenz comes with a ground clearance of 140 mm.

For better control the wheelbase of the TVS vehicle is 1220 mm. The wheel size of 2.75 X 10 / 2.75 X 10 mm also proves to be helpful for the bike control. Suspension plays an important role in getting good control over any kind of bike. The Teenz has the front suspension of leading link and twinshox plays its part in the rear one.

As one would expect, the city bike can do without disk brakes and so is the TVS Scooty Teenz. Both the wheels have drum 110 mm braking system. As most bikes today have, the Teenz also comes in tubeless alloy wheels. The tubeless tires can help in doing away with the headache of mending the punctured vehicle.

However, one of the greatest put offs can be the non-availability of the fuel gauge. Apart from that, there is the absence of low fuel indicator and low oil indicator as well. But, the vehicle does come with a low battery indicator.

Yesterday we had reported to you about the Indian auto company LML making a comeback with their scooter segment in Delhi and NCR regions. Now, there is another news piece worth sharing about LML again. The company is aggressive in their marketing and production plans and has much in store for them.

Whatever one may think about the scooters doing well in a certain part of a country, the existence of motorcycles can never be ignored or underestimated. Keeping that in mind, LML is also going to launch two motorcycles for the Indian market this year. The bikes will be in the 100cc and 125cc category.

But first, let us come to Star 200 4T. As the name of the model suggests, the vehicle will come in a 200cc engine. The scooter can generate power up to 11.5 Bhp and a maximum torque of 14.5 Nm. Though the scooter has a strong engine, it has the ability to reach the 50 kmpl mark even in city areas. Therefore, the scooter should fare well, where scooters are still a favorite.

Now, one of the most important things is the pricing of the bike. There is one prime reason for the price of the Star 4T to be a bit lesser. The reason is the company is making a comeback of sorts. This will force them to keep the prices down. Secondly, what they are promoting is the scooter – a vehicle not that popular today. This will make the prices of the vehicle within reach, considering the fact that they are staring at a 200cc vehicle.

For those who do not know about LML, here is a bit of information. The company might have failed at the local market; however, the scooters are a flavor in the European market. LML exports scooters to these places. That has kept the company alive. Had it not been for that support, it would have been extremely difficult for the auto maker to think about re-launching scooters in India.

LML Launches Select 150 Model

LML

News Journal

Scooters
<guid

class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3208" title="LML-Select-150_6" src="http://www.bikespace.in/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/LML-Select-150_6.jpg" alt="select 150"width="537" height="402" />In the already congested market where auto companies are already facing a cut-throat competition, LML is in the race now. They have launched the Select 150cc model in New Delhi and the NRC region. It has been a long time since there are any vehicles in the market from the LML brand.

Let us get a little nostalgic. Years ago, there was the LML Vespa brand in India. It was a relatively fine two-wheeler from the scooter segment which had made its presence felt on the Indian roads. Vespa is an Italian manufacturing brand. LML – Lohiya Machinery Limited and Vespa were partners when they launched the LML Vespa.

However, they could not hold on to the growing competition. There was Bajaj and Hero Honda who gave a tough fight to the LML brand. To add agony to this, the brand was priced relatively dear. This made the LML Vespa’s exist faster from the Indian roads.

In between, LML tried their luck with different projects and partners. Their next joint venture was with the Korean manufacturer Daelim. With Daelim they launched a 150cc bike called Energy and Adreno in the Indian market. When they had no success there, they took chances with Freedom – an 110cc bike. However, as luck would have it, they had no success on both the occasions.

But, they cannot be written off completely. They are back and with a launch as well. A lot is expected from the Select 150cc model. Let it not be surprising if the company is coming with a scooter to make a comeback instead of bikes – which are more popular today.

The reason to opt for a scooter is that in the Delhi and the NRC region, scooters still rule the roost. No wonder, the company is targeting only these two regions for their comeback. That is why launching a scooter was the best possible option before them.

Comparing: Honda Aviator Disc VS Mahindra Sym Flyte

Bike Comparisons

Honda

Scooters

When it comes to Honda and Mahindra, there has to be only quality. There has been no compromise on the quality of the vehicles dished out by both Honda and Mahindra. Mahindra entered the two-wheeler segment with a bang and there too their quality spoke volumes for the company.

The Honda Aviator Disc may as well have the shape of a moped, but the bike is equipped with disk brakes and a strong and powerful engine. The bike looks a lot more attractive than an actual moped as it comes with stunning design and eye-catching colors. The bike has two perfectly placed rear view mirrors which gives you a clear view of the back.

The Mahindra Sym Flyte may have inherited its appearance from the TVS Scooty on a greater level, but no doubt, it is a performance-oriented bike. The bike is a lot comfortable to site and to ride. There is enough space to sit comfortably for both the rider and the pillion.

Now let us come to the technicalities of the bike. The Aviator Disc is equipped with 4 stroke, single cylinder, air cooled, OHC engine. The vehicle produces top power of 7 bhp at 7,000 rpm and generates a peak torque of 0.8 kgm at 5,500 rpm.

Now, here is the engine information of the Mahindra bike. The Sym Flyte comes with 4 stroke, single cylinder, air cooled engine. The bike creates a high power of 8 Bhp at 7000 rpm and a maximum torque of 9 Nm at 5500 rpm.

The one good thing you will notice about the Sym Flyte is the space between the seat and the open dickey. This space is called the legroom. It makes it possible even for taller men to ride the bike comfortably.

It is a great pleasure riding the Honda bike. It gives out a good sound of firing and the pickup and acceleration is quite good too. The bike is equipped with 6 liters of fuel tank. This fuel is perfectly fine as one is expected to use it in the city limits in spite of heavy duty engine.

The Mahindra Flyte has a lesser capacity of fuel tank. You can fill only 4.5 liters of fuel in the tank at the most. However, amongst the best features is the four-in-one anti theft magnetic key to protect your bike from thieves.

The front brakes of the Honda Aviator Disc are 190 mm disc, while the rear brakes comprise of 130 mm drum. This goes enough with the bike if the speed and balance of the bike are taken into consideration. The tyre sizes for the bike are 90/90 X 12 for the front and 3.5 X 10 for the rear.

Now, coming to the Mahindra bike, the braking system for both the wheels is 130 mm drum brakes. These are more than sufficient as the speed of the bike is limited. Moreover, this is more of a city bike than a cross-country bike.

The length, the width and the height of the bike is 1802 mm, 707 mm and 1162 mm respectively, with a ground clearance of 145 mm.

Speaking of the Mahindra Sym Flyte, its length is 1790 mm, the width 690 mm while the height is 1100 mm. The bike however falls too short when it comes to the gourd clearance, which is just about 115 mm.

Comparing: Honda Activa VS TVS Scooty Pep+

Bike Comparisons

Honda

Scooters

TVS

A lot has been said about the Honda Activa. It is one of the best vehicles that average college going boys and girls . It is easy and light to handle. This makes it an instant hit for the females too. With popular color like red, the bike looks all the more attractive.

Even if the bike falls in the scooterette segment, it will be wrong to underestimate the vehicle. The shape of the vehicle may give you a feeling that it sports a light machine. However, the engine of the bike has a displacement of 109cc. It will give you an idea of the strength of the machine. The bike comes with a 4 stroke, single cylinder air cooled engine. The maximum power the bike generates is 8 Bhp at 7500 rpm and the highest torque it produces is 9 Nm at 5500 rpm.

The TVS Scooty Pep+ also falls in the scooterette section. However, it has a slightly lower engine displacement with 87.8 cc. Like the Activa, the Pep+ also comes in a 4 stroke, single cylinder air cooled engine. The high power the bike creates is 5 Bhp at 6500 rpm while the peak torque the Scooty generates is 5.8 Nm at 4000 rpm. Like the Activa, the TVS Scooty also comes with automatic gears. This makes driving all the easier.

The 5.3 liters of fuel tank seems to be okay for the Activa. The top speed of the Activa is 80 kmph. The headlamps have been redesigned and the turn indicators have been integrated in the body itself. There is a new CBS system in place for the bike which makes the braking quite easier. Whenever you apply the front brake, the rear brake is also automatically operated.

You will find most of the things comfortable in the Scooty Pep+. However, if a taller person needs to drive the bike, he will have to move back on the seat otherwise, his knees are sure to fight with the handle of the bike.

The Activa comes in a big color range. There are candy lucid red, force silver metallic, pearl sunbeam white, geny grey metallic, wild purple metallic and black to choose from. This gives much more options for the choosy ladies to get the bike of their favorite color.

Apart from the looks and the comfort of driving, there is enough stress given on the safety factor of the rider. The brakes and the suspension are what are the most important when it comes to safe driving. For both the front and the rear wheels, there are the drum 130 mm brakes.

The length of the Activa is 1761 mm, the height is 1147 mm and the width is 710 mm. The ground clearance is 145 mm. As for the suspension, there is the bottom link with spring loaded hydraulic damper for the front while unit swing with spring loaded hydraulic damper is located for the rear wheel.

Like the Activa, the Scooty Pep+ also comes in eye-catching color shades. The color shades available for the bike are electric red, purple mischief, night black, mauve and perky pink.

The length of the Scooty is 1685 mm, the height is 1060 mm and the width is 590 mm. The ground clearance is 135 mm. The drum 110 mm brakes provide the necessary safety for the rider.

Woman Power: Rise in the sales of unisex scooters

News Journal

Scooters

As it is constantly said these days that women do not lag behind men in any walk of life, they have shown the same in the auto industry as well. The fairer sex has pushed the sales of the unisex scooters for the year 2010-11. Such was the high trend of the sales that, they rose by around 40 per cent. This was 13 per cent more than what the bikes managed to increase their sales.

For the year 2010-11, the sales of the bikes increased by 27 per cent. However, the vehicles without a clutch and a gear are far easier to operate than that of the bikes. Therefore, the sales were bound to increase. Certainly, housewives find such vehicles easy to use as there is no extra fuss about controlling the vehicle.

The sales figures are unbelievable for the last fiscal year. Around 19 lakh scooters were sold just because, there were women contributors in the form of the customers. Whatever may we term this as, the women’s love for the bikes or the ability to bike such bikes, the women power is visible here – even in the statistics.

Such is the haste in buying the vehicles in the scooter segments that these vehicles have started to make appearances in the waiting list. The Honda Activa is one such example. Even in these fast days of production, there is a waiting period of as long and long as one year since booking your bike.

The supply-demand ratio does not meet the balance and Honda is planning to open a new plant in August. A new plant is the only way out for them to meet the exceeding demand. That is good news for Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India as the bookings are not drying up yet.

The company is facing a backlog of around 2, 00,000 Activa scooters. Though their production is of 6, 50,000 units, a backlog of 2, 00,000 suggests the crazy demand the Activa has in the market. Even Hero Honda Pleasure recorded 3, 60,000 units. Mahindra & Mahindra, who is a newcomer in this segment was also not to be left behind.

Review Of Honda Aviator Deluxe

Honda

Scooters
<guid

It not only has new looks but it is high performance as well. That is why it is one of the popular bikes amongst both boys and girls alike. But what makes it really popular – let’s have a closer look.

Now, when we say performance, we are basically talking about the engine. The Honda Aviator Deluxe comes with 4 stroke single cylinder air cooled OHC engine. The engine displacement is of 110 cc and this is what helps the bike in giving a good mileage. The vehicle generates a peak power of 7 bhp at 7000 rpm and belts out a torque of 0.8 kgm at 5500 rpm.

The bike has a good acceleration with the capacity of reaching 60 kmph in 9.9 seconds only and can be driven at a top speed of 84 kmph.

<img
class="alignleft size-full wp-image-2486" src="http://www.bikespace.in/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/honda-aviator-delux-front.jpg" alt="Honda Aviator Deluxe"width="273" height="285" />The bike is capable of giving a fuel economy of more than 50 kmpl. It is very much acceptable in the city areas. If the bike were to be used for cross country rides, one may get more average if the bike is driven in the economy speed. However, the bike is not designed for longer runs. But it is targeted to be used in the city only. The fuel tank has an overall capacity of 6 liters only.

The bike comes with alloy wheels, which gives it a trendier look. Moreover, it is light to handle as well, because the curb weight is only 102.3 kg. That is why it is more popular amongst the college going girls.

The other important features of the Honda bike include low fuel indicator, oil indicator and battery indicator. That is why the rider is always aware of the condition of his vehicle. This is an important step towards safety.

<img
class="alignright size-full wp-image-2487" src="http://www.bikespace.in/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/honda-aviator-delux-rear.jpg" alt="Honda Aviator Deluxe"width="275" height="317" />The bike comes in both kick start and self start options. Among some of the other features of the bike, it has a very powerful halogen headlamp. The instrumental panel is as attractive as the bike. The side and rear panels are made up of pure and quality plastic. An analogue fuel gauge and speedometer are also in place. To boot it all, there are tuff up tubes, which help to avoid the puncture risks by a good 70% to 80%.

The length of the bike is 1802 mm, the height is 1162 mm while the width is 707 mm. The Honda Aviator Deluxe has slightly larger wheelbase than the other scooters in this segment. The wheelbase of this vehicle is 1256 mm. For more safety, there are different sizes for the wheels. The rear wheel size is 10-inch while the front wheel is of 12-inch.

For the safety measures, telescopic front suspension and rear unit swing suspension are in place in the bike. Along with suspension, the brakes also play an important role in the safety of the bike. The bike has a front disc brake with 3 piston calipers.

Honda Aviator Deluxe Price
<p

One looks stylish while driving the bike. The performance is excellent and there is hardly any doubt in it. The bike easily attracts the young generation, as one single looks make the customer buy the vehicle. The shining and sparkling plastic used in the scooty makes this attraction possible.

The Honda Aviator Disc comes with a 4 stroke, single cylinder, air cooled, OHC engine. The displacement of 102cc. is enough to give you pleasurable rides in the city. The Aviator generates a top power of 7 bhp at 7,000 rpm and 0.8 kgm of torque at 5,500 rpm. The vehicle is equipped with both self start and kick start options.

<img
class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-2303" title="aviator_4" src="http://www.bikespace.in/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/aviator_4-300x200.jpg" alt="Honda Aviator Disc"width="300" height="200" />Among the many features which the bike holds, large multi-reflector halogen headlamp, lens indicator and a sweet dashboard. The Honda Aviator Disc comes with a combination of metal and high impact resistant ABS parts. This helps in reducing the weight of the bike up to a great extent. The vehicle also has tuff up tubes to reduce the chances of puncture.

The fuel tank has a capacity of 6 liters. This is enough for a city ride as with this bike, one is not expected to go on long drives. There is a lot of space for the casual things to store below the driver’s seat. This designing now has become a very common part in such vehicles.

The front wheel of the Honda Aviator Disc is a bit larger. This helps in getting a better overall suspension. A better suspension allows a better and a smooth ride. It vibrates lesser and gives a better grip even if the speed increases a bit more.

The length of the bike is 1802 mm, the width 707 mm and the height is 1162 mm. The clearance for such a vehicle is okay at 145 mm.

The seating arrangement of the vehicle seems rather lifted as the seat seems to be obtruding outwards in a slight angle. It can give an awkward seating position and put of potential buyers. Apart from this, the bike scores almost everywhere.

Price Of Honda Aviator Disc
<p

One look at the bike will make you fall in love with it. The aerodynamic design catches the onlooker for attention. Sporty, trendy, stunning, you can describe it in any way you want.

The front of the Suzuki Skydrive is worth giving a look at. It has a V-shaped headlight and a pointed front mudguard. This gives it more power to cut through the air when driving. Along with the headlights, the turn indicators increase the beauty of the bike.

The instrument panel consists of speedometer, indicator signal and fuel indicator. You can see the company logo on the side panels of the vehicle. Almost the entire body parts are of the body color including the rear view mirrors. Among many other features, the Skydive has beautifully designed alloy wheels.

The Suzuki Skydrive may have an engine with a displacement of 124cc. The engine of the vehicle is likely to be of 4 Stroke, air-cooled SOHC system. No doubt, the maximum power and torque of the bike will also be second to none. The vehicle comes in both self start and kick start options.

The wheels are broad enough to help the rider get a good balance while driving. The tyre specification of the Suzuki Skydrive is as follows: for the front wheels, the size is 70/90 – 14 M/C 34 P and that of the rear wheel it is 80/90 – 14 M/C 40 P. the designing of the wheels is certain help for the rider to get sufficient balance.

The fuel capacity of the Suzuki Skydrive is only 6 liters, while the usable fuel is even less than one liter. However, it is perfectly acceptable, keeping in mind that the vehicle is designed for the city use only. The fuel economy is on the acceptable side of 45 kmph.

Among other specifications, the length of the Suzuki Skydrive is 1885 mm, the height is 1040 mm while the width is 655 mm. The curb weight of this bike is only 107 kg.

The braking system used by Suzuki is also expected to be sound. Hydraulic disc brake at the front and drum brake might be used at the rear wheel. The braking system also allows easy decelerating of the bike. this helps in handling and controlling the bike more easily.
<p
