The company recorded growth of 7 per cent. The sum of the company’s revenue reached a figure of Rs. 1762 cr. For the same period last year, the company had managed sales of Rs. 1647 cr. This is an increase of Rs. 115 cr.

The company sold around 5.19 lakh vehicles during the period. However, there was almost no difference in the sales for the same period last year. For the Q3 of the last financial year, the company had sold 5.18 lakh vehicles. It was mainly the scooters that contributed to the success of the sales.

The sales of the scooters went up by 11 per cent to sit at 1.38 lakhs. For the corresponding period, the sales of the scooters were recorded at 1.24 lakh units. There was good reporting from the bike segment as well. For the third quarter of this fiscal, the company sold 2.11 lakh units. For the corresponding time, the company had sold 1.93 lakh vehicles.

There was a positive sign in the exports sector as well. There was a total growth of 24 per cent as the sales touched 63700 units. For the corresponding period, the company had sales of 51441 units. The warm response was clearly visible with a rise of 12,259 units.

The overall sales obviously increased the difference between the Profit Before Tax (PBT) as against the Profit After Tax (PAT) margin for the third quarter for this year compared to the last financial year. The PBT for Q3 this year was Rs. 75.56 cr. while for the last year’s Q3, the figures stood at Rs. 70.29. The PAT for the Q3 last year was Rs. 55.75 cr. while for this year the figures stood at Rs. 56.53 cr.

The 2012 Edition Of The Star City Launched By TVS

News Journal

TVS
<guid

class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-4221" title="tvs-starcity-2012" src="http://www.bikespace.in/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/tvs-starcity-2012.jpg" alt="star city"width="630" height="420" />Let us agree that the south India based company – the TVS has fought its way to one of the leading two wheeler brands in India. The position that it is in today, did not come easy. However, the success is worth every bit that is worth enjoying. One of their leading models is the StaR city.

Now, it is for the first time that the bike will come in an all new executive class. It includes the dual tone for the body color, a fashionable headlight and is all set to make a thunderous entry in the market with as many as six colors to choose from. It is nothing less than a shower of options to choose from for the TVS fans.

The bike will have an engine built with the CVTi (Continuous Variable Timing Ignition). It helps the bike to give not only better pickup but also a higher and increased performance all the time. Of course, there is nothing to compromise on the mileage. On the contrary, it boosts the output one is expected to get of the bike.

It is the swirl and tumble motion that is responsible for generating this high pickup and boosting the performance. It brings the cylinder charging in motion. All these developments are carried out by at least three times more than what the traditional port designs were offering so far.

The millage testing carried out on the StaR City under the usually adopted standard conditions returned a flattering mileage of 83.9 kmpl. That shows the contribution of the CVTi technology in the elevated performance for the bike.

The basic version of the bike comes in the 110cc category. The ex-showroom of the bike is Rs. 38,650. The StaR City comes with a five year warranty. Along with the warranty the bike assures high performance and the quality of TVS to go with it.

The econometer is also another exciting feature in the bike that takes care of the fuel efficiency in the bike. The alloy wheels that come in an all black color increase the personality of the bike considerably. The backlit speedo is another feature that gives a good amount of facelift to the StaR City.

All-in-all, an experience of high quality riding and the ease of driving make the StaR City a machine worth looking up to. The bike is tough, powerful and yet absolutely easy to ride.

TVS Announces New Automatic Transmission Technology

News Journal

Technology And Concepts

TVS

Only introducing new models in the market is not enough to compete with your competitors in the industry today, whichever industry it may be. You need to have something unique and special with you to attract customers. If it is the DTS-i technology with Bajaj, there is performance, style and the trust of Hero.

TVS has got itself in this league of having something special with them what the other bike players in the market do not have. TVS now has a unique technology that will save fuel by as much as 20 per cent. It is effective if compared with the traditional technology which is in use today.

The TVS is one of the major auto players in India. It may not be as glamorous as Hero MotoCorp, Honda Motors or Bajaj Auto for that matter. But, it is the only auto maker in India to have a unique award against its name. Leave alone India, but TVS has received a price that no other auto maker has got in the entire world. It is the Deming Prize, which is the most coveted award in the world. The company has got the award for their Total Quality Management. This is the price that will certainly make TVS a proud auto maker.

Coming back to the new technology, it is the TVS Automatic Transmission. This new technology takes the place of the traditionally used Continuously Variable Transmission Technology (CVT). The TVS Auto Transmission will make the gear changing a lot easier. In fact, there will be an electronic control for shifting gears automatically for particular riding conditions.

This technology makes it possible for the vehicle to run in the most effective RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) way. That gives the vehicle the best possible performance. And so the engine can achieve its peak efficiency. This in turn, overrides the prerequisite to use the clutch.

According to the company, this technology is currently tested on the 110cc vehicles, with a four stroke engine. TVS has also added ECU (Electronic Control Unit). The ECU helps in enhancing the performance of the bike, thereby making the vehicle more fuel efficient.

TVS Tests Their Next New Model – The TVS Neo X3i

News Journal

TVS
<guid

Almost all the bike models are performing well and it is helping the company to strengthen their roots stronger and deeper. The two wheeler market in Indonesia has proved to be a big pleasant surprise for them.

Many of the variants launched by TVS in Indonesia have proved to be successful as they have got an extremely warm response. This has prompted the company to bring in one more new variant exclusively for the Indonesian market. We are talking about the Neo X3i. This new model is being currently tested in the company’s plant in Hosur, in Tamil Nadu.

The bike sports a single cylinder four stroke air cooled engine that comes with 110cc capacity. The bike can create a high power of 8.5 Bhp at 7500 rpm. The bike has been introduced as the company is getting an overwhelming response to their other bikes in Indonesia. But interestingly enough, there are hardly any features worth mentioning in the Neo X3i.

The only positives in the bike worth mentioning are a couple of things. The first is the riding experience and the looks. The Neo X3i promises a comfortable riding experience due to the way the bike is designed. The overall physical appearance of the bike is also very attractive. The looks can go in favor of the company.

The tail light of the Neo X3i has been designed on the lines of the Fiero. As far as the headlight is concerned, it resembles the Honda Dio – assembled below the handle bar. It can prove to be a downside as the headlight cannot move along with the direction of the handle, especially when turning. The vehicle can prove to be a big advantage for women as it is easy for them to handle such vehicles.

It is still unclear whether the model is introduced in India in the future or not. An official statement from the TVS can only remove this doubt. At present, there are no plans for the company to launch the vehicle in India.

TVS Neo X3i Tech Specs

ENGINE

href="http://www.bikespace.in/2010/09/upcoming-mopeds-in-india-tvs-rockz/">The TVS Rockz is yet to be launched. However, for the sake of testing, the bike was on the roads and that is when it was spotted. The testing was being done on the Hosur roads. The plant of the company is located at Hosur and that is why it was seen there.

The vehicle is powered with a 125cc engine and is known to be one of the best in the category. The bike is specially known of the higher performance it is expected to dish out. it comes with four F components in the engine. They are – Roller Follower (RF), Teflon-coated guide tensioner (TF), Light Piston Ring (LF) and finally the Advance Lub Circuit (LF).

The new security feature includes the anti-theft lock. It works when the vehicle is parked on the main stand. It automatically locks the bike, preventing theft of your vehicle. The seat lock is another option through which you can control the lock system of the Rockz.

The bike is armed with Canister Shock Absorber coupled with nitrogen. It helps in providing a typical comfortable position when riding. So you should get a relaxed riding experience whenever you ride your bike. However, that is not all. There is one more feature that you might hardly see in a two wheeler.

This feature we are talking about is the IMS, aka Integrated Music System. With this, you can listen to your favorite songs through a USB port. Such a feature is very rarely used in two wheelers, but is available in the TVS Rockz. You can take the joy of listening to FM radio on the go. That will make you ride more interesting and relaxing.

The tail light of the Rockz is almost the same as that of the TVS Apache. It dons the LED cluster along with the red cover at the center. The bike was designed for Indonesia initially. However, with its strong features, it did not take a lot of time to grab the attention of the world. The presence of disc brakes for both the wheels makes the bike even more attractive.

Sales Grow For TVS Motors By 12 per cent For November

News Journal

TVS
<guid

For the same month last year, the company had sold 1, 57,041 units. This is a growth of 18,494 units or 12 per cent. However, this was not the only good news for the company.

The sales for the current financial year until the November end also saw an increase. Co-incidentally, it increase was also 12 per cent. From April 2010 to November 2010, the company had sold 13, 41,106 units. For the same period this year, the company has sold 14, 99,612 units. This is an increase of 1, 58,506 units.
<p

With the flattering figures by their side, the company is looking at meeting new goals. TVS Motors is now aiming at 15 per cent annual growth for the remaining period of the year. If the same trend continues, it would not be a difficult task.

New TVS Apache RTR Might Show Up At The Delhi Auto Expo 2012

Auto Events

News Journal

TVS
<guid

class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3822" title="apache-rtr-180-2_2" src="http://www.bikespace.in/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/apache-rtr-180-2_2.jpg" alt="apache rtr"width="620" height="464" />It is still anyone’s guess if the TVS Apache RTR will ever show up at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012. There is yet no official word on the same. This will be an entirely decision of the management of the auto company. However, if the bike is brought at the Expo, it will give a nice chance for the bike lovers to have a closer look at the new model.

Without the physical presence of the bike, it will be all guess work as far as the new additions and features are concerned. However, a couple of changes are already known by now. One of them is the presence of the four valve DOHC and the other is the liquid cooling.

The company has plans of selling the Apache Twins in Indonesia. They have come up with an upgraded version of the bike. A lot of changes made have been made in the bike. They are both mechanical as well as external. Some of them are as follows: The bike will have dual front disc brakes and a visually appeasing new fuel tank. There are new alloy wheels and split seats for better comfort.

As there is still enough mystery if the bike will be brought at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012, it is also a thing to curiosity if the very same bike will actually be sold in India. One factor could be the study of the mindset of the Indian bikers why the company may not launch the bike in India. A study of the approach will give them better idea, though.

According to the experts, the bike may see changes in the power as well as the torque. Changes in the displacement of the bike can also be not ruled out to achieve these targets. These changes are high on the minds of the makers as it will add more value to the bike and importantly will keep it in the competition.

Q2 Sales Grow For TVS Motors By 23 per cent

News Journal

TVS
<guid

Now, here is a short review about TVS Motors – another auto major in India and its performance in the last month. Like other auto companies, the TVS also cashed in on the festive season and made most of the time.

The festive season of the current year was the best ever for the company. TVS recorded their best sales ever. TVS sold 2, 50,000 two wheelers. The Durga Pooja and Diwali proved extremely beneficial as the sales went up by 20 per cent than what they had achieved during the same period last year.

This resulted in the liquidation of the stocks, which was carried out by the company as well as the dealers. Keeping pace with the same results, it is expected that the sales would cross more than 2 lakh units for the last two months of the year.

In the last October TVS had sold 1, 83,718 units. However, since the current financial year starting April 2011, the sales rose by 12 per cent. This increase amounts to 13, 24,077 units. For the same time frame for the last year, there were sales of 11, 84,065 units. This shows an increase of 1, 40,012. Seeing the positive growth the company is targeting a growth of 15 per cent for the remaining year.

One of the reasons for the company’s growth is the rising fuel prices. That has prompted the customers to choose two wheelers over four wheelers. There have been five increases in the fuel since the last December. Higher interest rates have also contributed to the company’s rapid growth. The rates are so high that it is affordable for the common man to be an owner of two wheelers rather than four wheelers.

TVS Introduces The Scooty Streak With Facelift

News Journal

TVS
<guid

Like other bike manufacturing companies, TVS is one who has followed the trodden path. TVS has come up with a facelift to the Scooty Streak.

There are minor changes in the vehicle, but practically enough they are more advantageous in the days to come. Even if the changes do not boast of big overhauls, they are certainly a magnate and able to attract newer potential customers. However, the good thing is that the price has been kept as it is – Rs. 39,225.

The exteriors of the bike are redesigned using the black color. To go with the black color, there are redesigned graphics as well. The combination looks killing. A new change that is made in the vehicle is the height. Low seats will make it easier for the riders to take better control of the Scooty. Apart from these, the tyres – wider at 90 mm will help in giving more stability and strength when on roads.

The wide tyres will help the bike get good control on corners as well as wet roads. Now users can charge their mobile even as the Scooty is moving. A mobile charging slot now exists in the Scooty. A glovebox exists in the lockable format. A front fuel tank cap is one more illustration in designing a thoughtful Scooty for the new generation.

Amongst the other change is the ease of use of the center stand. It is as easy as using the side stand. So even girls can easily park the vehicle on the main stand easily. The telescopic front fork is what one can see as an extra addition in the bike. This feature is non-existent in most of the other vehicles that fall in the same category as the Scooty. They are sited at the front wheel on both the sides. This will make braking system smoother as there will be less pressure on it.

All these additions have been done at almost the same cost as the old Scooty. So that will certainly attract newer customers. However, the Scooty is yet too far from being a serious competitor to other bikes like <a

In that attempt they have made a proposal to produce bikes in the two wheeler plant that is operated by their franchise. The plant is located at Uluberia, in the periphery of the city.

The official information about this was given by the Commerce and Industry Minister of West Bengal Partha Chatterjee. In the piece of information, it was disclosed that TVS Motors has sent a letter to the West Bengal Government. The content of the letter reads that they are ready to demerge from the Mahabharat Motors.

The letter further says that TVS will produce bikes by themselves. That will make them more proficient in catering to the needs of the eastern India.

If everything goes as planned, TVS Motors will be using at least 45 acres of land out of the 63 acres of land on which the Uluberia plant stands. However, the minister refrained from speaking about the investment TVS Motors will be making.

It is also likely that the top brass of the TVS Motors are likely to pay a visit to the concerned government officials. However, none of the officials from the bike major made any positive comments about the proposed visit. It was in 2008 that TVS Motors joined hands with the Mahabharat Motors. MM worked as the contract manufacturers with the TVS. The Mahabharat Motors is promoted by the Salim Group from Indonesia and Universal Success Enterprise, Singapore.

A little history about the joint venture between TVS Motors and Mahabharat Motors is marred by the economic slowdown. The two companies had proposed to manufacture at least 1000 bikes each month since October 2009. This number was supposed to touch 10,000 bikes per month. However, as the expectations were never met, TVS had no option but to stop outsourcing from the Mahabharat Motors.
